B91M54 Size: Full The Grenada bed looks like it was taken right out of a centuries-old spice plantation. This mixed-media wood and metal bed has remarkably classic lines. Four 2 5/8” solid, hardwood posts are topped with hand-poured, cast end caps. The footboard features cast feet. The camelback grills are welded for added stability. The dramatic scrolls within the grills are cleverly wrapped with metal ties. Each inner scroll is finished with a delicate process which results in a flat hammered end, giving the appearance of a genuinely, hand made piece. One single arrow-straight, hammered tube marks the center of the bed. Two single loops wrap around each post connecting together with the grill; hugging metal to wood. You don’t have to go far to find the inspiration for the distinctive finish of the mixed-media Grenada bed. The hardwood posts are finished in a beautiful Cocoa Walnut, a darker chocolate brown color. The grill features a plated Charcoal finish, best described as basic matte silver with a black patina appearance dulling the silver creating an aged outcome. I researched the Internet for a replacement frame for my queen-size bed. The Leggett & Platt name appeared regularly, so I searched Amazon and found this one. The seller at the time allowed free Super Saver shipping, so the 4.99 price was average or slightly lower than other sources where shipping added anywhere from – to the cost. Amazon doesn’t charge sales tax, which Sears (to name one example) charges. I like the ease of purchasing from Amazon.

The “Instamatic” in the name probably refers to the ease in assembly – less than 10 minutes.

The frame arrived in a cardboard box wrapped in plastic. The assembly instructions were simple enough. This model has six sturdy wheels. The wheels are in a separate plastic bag. Each wheel has a shaft with a plastic pivot guide that gets inserted into the frame. After the guides are installed, the wheels snap into them.
Note if you get this frame that the instructions tell you to assemble the frame, and then tell you to put the plastic guides into their holes. I suggest putting the guides into the holes first, and then assembling the frame. After the frame is assembled, put the wheels into the guides. You’re done!

Once assembled, the wheels stay in their guides and do not fall out when the frame corner is lifted.

Two of the wheels can be locked. The instructions suggest putting them at the end of the bed, which I did. However, all wheels are interchangeable, so put the locking wheels in the locations that are most easily accessed.

The frame is several pounds heavier than the frame that it replaced, so I anticipate that it will be longer lasting. By the way, the old frame’s width was adjustable, from twin to king. This Leggett & Platt frame is specifically designed for queen beds, which is a big plus.
